&history; Eric covered the eyes of Emily Rose as he slowly guided her into the hallway. She giggled as her socks slipped over the hardwood floors. She was 7 months pregnant with their first child. They had argued over the child's name just about everyday since they found out it was going to be a boy. Suddenly, Emily's feet gripped onto a soft carpet, and Eric removed his hands.
Emily gasped as she looked around her. Eric had gone through all of the trouble to make a new room just for the baby. He had painted the walls a sky-lit blue, and painted white clouds and a big sun in the widdle of the room. 2 windows revealed a great view overlooking the lake behind their house. A small mahogany crib that had rockers beneath the long legs. A small changing station almost directly behind the crib. A toy box filled with soft toys and chewwies. And, of course, a small wooden rocking chair that was just the perfect size for Emily to sit in and rock their perfect little boy to sleep. He had made almost everything in the room all by himself.
Tears sprang to her eyes, seeing how everything was so beautiful. She hugged him and kissed him for days and told him how very much she loved it. And yet, they continued to argue over the name of their son; "He is definitely a Deuteronemy Cole!" cried Eric at Emily one night. She was standing at the kitchen counter chopping up fresh strawberries to put in some dino-shaped mac-n-cheese, an angry countenance thrown on her face. "He is definitely a Colson Garret!" she screamed back at him.
They continued to argue and argue over the names until the moment he was finally born.
It was a bright, sunny day, that May 23rd, 17 years ago. Mrs. Rose went through almost 7 hours of harsh labour. Mr. Rose was very supportive, and held her hand and didn't leave her side for a minute through the entire process, until, finally, their darling baby boy was born at 2:24 on a Thursday afternoon.
As soon as he was born and washed off, his father wrapped him in a warm blanket, and rocked him to sleep. He took one look at his jet black hair, and gazed deeply into his icy blue eyes, and announced, "He is most definitely a Steffan Emile." He smiled down at Emily, who was smiling right back at him, a tear forming in her eye as she held her first born son for the very first time.
But things didn't always work that smoothly for the family...
For the first few weeks, Emily and Eric were more than happy with their new child. They loved him more than they loved anything else on planet earth and visualized him as a perfect little angel. Every day, they would spen as much time with Steffan as they possibly could; talking to him and cooing at him, singing to him every night, cuddling with him at bedtime, even taking him for drives around the block in his new carseat.
Until, one day when Emily came to get him out of bed and he wasn't there. Scared out of her mind, she called Eric who was at work, bursting with tears. He rushed home as soon as he could. They searched everywhere possible, and finally called the police.
For weeks, search warrants scanned the country for him, when Emily finally found him while getting some bread out of the cupboard. He had somehow landed on top of the fridge, giggling and cooing to himself. But what she found even more odd was that he held a lava lamp in his hand. Mystified, Emily called off all of the search parties and called the local police to take down all of the posters around town.
From then on, his parents kept a very close eye on him, as he would disappear at random points and come back days later with new exotic items. They grew to be a little bit scared of Steffan sometimes.
His parents knew he was different, but loved and accepted him just the same. Still, he would continue to randomly disappear, which was dangerous and scary for them, but they continued to see past that.
When Steffan was 3 years old, his mother gave birth to another son, Isaiah, Steffan's baby brother. He loved his little brother, for he was his only friend. Not even the weirdest kids in the neighborhood would buddy around with Steffan. For years, the 2 boys loved eachother like every sibling should.
When Steffan was about 12, a most tragic thing happened; his father was out in the woods cutting holly for Christmas, when he was killed by a mysterious passing traveler. His mother quickly packed their things, and took all 3 kids with her to mother and father's house farther out in Dublin. Emily's parents welcome the 5 of them in, and they were treated and loved with lots of care and attention on the small farm out in the country.
He lived a good life there with his family, they loved him a lot and he loved them, but he knew he was different, and he just didn't feel right, therefore, he was never really happy.
At the age of 15, he decided to set out on his own out into the mysterious dark world. With no where to go, Steffan turned to his 19 year old cousin, Michael Bradley, who mysteriously had odd abilities, as well. He lived there for a good 2 years, peacefully and happily with his cousin, still occasionally turning up randomly with odd objects like pewter pots and spinning wheels.
Steffan's cousin, Michael, was a bit of a party animal, and constantly had girls spending the night at their house. He got a little fed up with him sometimes, as he wasn't that type of guy. He would always find broken beer bottles and condoms all over his room and the den, where he did a lot of his studying, but after a while he got used to it, as Michael made a lot of money off off of those people, and Steffan was the one who inherited all of the money the next day when Michael turned up hungover and useless.
But, of course, after a while, Michael started getting -really- into alchohol abuse and drugs, and that's when Steffan decided it was time to leave him, as well, eventhough he had basically nowhere else to go.
But, when it finally seemed as if all hope was officially lost, quite a significant event happened. While he was in the Market one day, picking up some dino-shaped mac-n-cheese ('Cause yanno how much Steffan likes his Dino-shaped mac-n-cheese...) when he noticed a new sticky on the a table by the gate entrance. Walking over to it casually, he grasped it in his hands, looking at it closely.
This piece of paper would hopefully change his life. This paper was an advertisement poster for Chaford High.
&personality; Steffan is mostly described of as the perfect gentleman. His mother raised him among her own family who have the best of manners and respect. He always shows respect to others, even when it's hard for him to, because he feels that he would be dishonoring his mother and family if he chose to do so. He knows exactly how to catch a girl's heart, but he's been waiting to use these special talents on the perfect one, because love is very important to him.
Eventhough Steffan uses proper behavior and what not, he always loves to have fun, hanging with his buddies around town or at a park. He loves to be in the woods, running around with his friends or his dog, Chessy. Steffan has a very soft-spot for any animal that crosses his path. It's almost like he goes into a phase when he's around an animal that he loves, which is mostly all of them...
Steffan is not easily embarrassed, and he hates it when people try to embarrass others. He sticks up for and to a lot of people for others and himself. He's a great leader, but a great follower, as well.

A soft flow of a wooden flute came from somewhere off in the distance as a warm gust of Summer breeze floated by Steffan's nose, carrying along the strong scent of Juniper berries and warm sunshine. His right hand held firmly to a wither basket that his father had made for his mother to pick flowers in before he departed them. Steffan's left hand held a very loose and friendly grip onto Finn's hand - his 3 year old sister - who happened to have a very nasty cold. A loud humming noise buzzed from the entrance of the market place as people began to pile in. Steffan's strong blue eyes carefully scanned the lot of the market, looking for a nice place to purchase some honey for his mother. Slowly, he made his way over to a small broken table that had an overblown-up picture of a bee. He walked with a strong stride, but Finn dragged along behind him.
Swiftly, he twisted his arm around her, and picked her up in a single scooping motion as he neared the table. A feeble old mad sat at the other end. His eyes looked old and worn, and his face was very wrinkled.
"Excuse me, sir?" Steffan said in a voice that you might pressume to be that of an angel's, "Do you happen to sell honey here?" The old man held a stonrg grip between their eyes as he searched his mind to see what he was looking for, as he was def. He hesitated before pulling out a small glass jar from underneath the table and handing it to Steffan. He reached down to pick it up, gratefully.
"Thank you, sir." He said with a smile, "How much?" He quickly tossed the jar to his other hand, still holding onto Finn, and reached into his pocket, retrieving a small pile of bronze coins - Hem, also known as Fairy currency. He scooped 5 off of the top and set them down in the jar's place on the table. The man gave him an odd look and wisked the coins away back to Steffan. Steffan looked puzzled.
"A gift for your mother." He said weakly, as he could not hear his own words. Steffan smiled gratefully, and replied,
"Thank you very much, sir!" He gently scooped the coins back into his pocket and waved a last good-bye to the little man, before turning away and carrying the now-sleeping girl out of the market on his shoulder.
